About Us
The Algarve Serra is reminiscent of the land where our passion for coffee was born; terraces line the slopes, but instead of coffee bushes there are olives and citrus, the hazy sky blends into the horizon and in the shade, people gather together. As the heat of the day abates, the scents strengthen and birds and insects begin to wake.
The Serra Coffee Company was established here by us, Sarah and Nick, after the journey of a lifetime through Africa, brewing local coffee at the side of the road, and learning the art of cultivating, harvesting and processing this amazing fruit.
Our mission is simple, to roast coffee that honours the people who grow it, pick it and turn it into green coffee. We aim to highlight the character of each coffee and show its full potential through carefully planned and executed small batch roasts.
Through our partners, we source from cooperatives, washing stations, and farms committed to sustainable farming practices. We believe great coffee begins with fair prices, transparency, and respect for every step of the journey from farm to cup.
